A graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, Dr. Leslie Ang was an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, USA in 2005 and was a Senior Consultant at Singhealth's National Dental Centre Singapore. He is a Specialist in Endodontics. Internationally, he is a Specialist Member of the American Association of Endodontists, member on the Scientific Advisory Panel for the American Association of Endodontists' official Journal of Endodontics and on the International Editorial Boards of several journals including the Italian Journal of Endodontics.  

A  Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore he is a reviewer for Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore and the Journal of Dentistry. Under a government scholarship, he completed the Endodontic Residency and obtained the Specialist Certificate at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, U.S.A. and  stayed on  to obtain a Master of Science degree from the same University. Under government scholarship he received further training in endodontic surgery at the Universitätsklinik Für Zahn- Mund- Und Kieferheilkunde in Graz, Austria and in research at the University of Minnesota.

A pioneer in microsurgery and microendodontics he brought about a paradigm shift in the way surgical and non-surgical endodontics were done in Asia.  Since 1993 he had taught microscopic endodontics in USA and  has extensively lectured and conducted numerous hands-on workshops in endodontics and microsurgery in USA, Europe, Canada and Asia.
